When transporting fruits and vegetables, one should consider the place of destination, as it can greatly affect the quality of cargo. It should also be noted that different countries have limitations on transporting certain fruits and vegetables. There are few such limitations for inland transportations. Most countries restrict the import and export of fruits and vegetables to prevent the spread of bacteria, bugs, and plants not typical for the area and representing a potential threat for local ecosystems.

The standards define the packaging and storing requirements for every sort of fruits and vegetables.

Choose the approved company Kvaver Ltd. that has been working in the sphere of international transportation of fresh fruits and vegetables for many years.

The faster cargo reaches the consignee, the lower the risk of its drying or wastage. Cooling systems are actively used for careful storage and transportation of fruits. Fruits and vegetables spoil faster at high temperatures, thus keeping lower temperatures allows delivering goods without loss in quality.

Some fruits cannot be transported together. All fruits after harvesting release a harmless colourless gas – ethylene. Depending on the type of fruits and vegetables, the gas is released in bigger or smaller quantities. Fruits ripen (and spoil) faster due to ethylene vapors. Therefore, ethylene-sensitive fruits and vegetables should be kept separate from varieties that emit ethylene in big quantities. Ethylene-sensitive products include pepper, carrot (bitters), aubergines, and tomatoes.

More detailed information on classification of fruits and vegetables and their storage requirements is presented in the table.
